[ 11/15/2007 ] Going fanless just got faster – POS-X introduces the new XPC600 TouchPC

(Bellingham, WA, November 15th, 2007) - POS-X Inc., manufacturer of a complete line of point-of-sale hardware, recently unveiled its next generation Fanless Touch PC, the XPC600 Series. The POS-X XPC600 15” LCD TouchPC offers the fastest processing power amongst fanless all-in-one computers in its class. The ventless case design is better equipped to resist spills and dirt buildup that can freeze up traditional fan-based PCs. Wherever you choose to deploy the XPC600, the silent, fanless construction makes this terminal an excellent choice to integrate in any environment from quiet to bustling. Once the terminal is deployed, the powerful features of the XPC600 have their chance to shine. Baseline performance is achieved utilizing an Intel Mobile 1.6GHz CPU, 512MB DDRII RAM and a 40GB hard drive. For even faster processing, POS-X has CPU and RAM upgrades to a Pentium Mobile 1.73 GHz and 1 or 2 GB of DDRII RAM respectively. The solid aluminum heat sink encompasses the entire back side of the TouchPC, ensuring potent cooling power for hot environments of up to 114° Fahrenheit (ambient). Swapping hard drives is a breeze with the easy access hard drive port.

An extra VGA output enables dual monitors for customer facing applications. The resistive 5-wire touch screen responds to the lightest impressions with durability to last 35 million taps in a single location. The second generation bump-free 90° tilting base ensures rock-solid stability. The XPC600’s rugged, spill-resistant housing handles the punishment of high-traffic, multi-user environments.
